Thanksgiving is here, Thanksgiving is here
The west coast stopped burning; the east coast is clear
Thanksgiving is here, Thanksgiving is here
There’s no shortage of sage; no new tariffs on beer.
Thanksgiving is here and the roads all get crowded
The tradition is clear, it never was doubted.
Let’s be with our loved ones and eat till we sleep
Then wake up the next day and back home we creep
Turducken’s are roasted and pies set to cool
For the best holiday table to make us all drool
The beans are bright green and the potatoes are sweet
The gravy is waiting to be poured on the meat
Desserts are abundant with cookies, cakes and pies
We all eat so much we will soon wonder why
The stuffing is stuffing it causes us pain
Yet once again we are missing the poison romaine
For two years running a new tradition is set
Romaine is the one thing you just cannot get
E. Coli runs rampant in hearts and filets.
In salads or wraps it has seen better days
So eat, drink and be merry, and spend time with your kin
Knowing next year we’ll do it all once again.
