A THANKSGIVING THOUGHT: AT LEAST WE CAN EAT

The Holiday Beckons, The Factor Is High
We All Want To Do A Bit More Than Get By
The Flights Are All Filled Up, The Weather Is Clear
Is It Possible We Won’t Freak Out This year

Now The Basil Is Rained Out, And Cauliflower Are Few
Making It Tough To Enjoy What We Do
But We Are Told To Be Thankful, So What Do We Do
We Buy Gourmet Foods And We Tire From The Chew

The Chestnuts Roasting, One Season Too Soon
The Houses Are Lit Up, This Is The Wrong Tune
The Turkey Has Not Even Been Set To Heat
Already We Are Thinking What Sales Line To Beat

So What Is Thanksgiving, Just Calm Before The Sale
Or A Time To Give Thanks For The Food We Inhale
So Cha-ching To The Sales Of The Heritage Birds
Cha-ching To The Stuffing And Fancy Cheese Curds

Cha-Ching To The Cranberries Cha-Ching To The Greens
Cha-Ching To Fresh Herbs And Pies Of All Means
For This We Are Thankful, But Is This Some Great Feat
For The Base Of This Thankful Is Our Joy We Can Eat

FROM US AND OURS TO YOU AND YOURS WISHING YOU A
HAPPY, HEALTHY AND SAFE HOLIDAY WEEKEND
