THANKSGIVING 2020
So Thanksgiving is here, but it is different this year, we will celebrate outside of tradition The family reunion, which we annually tune in, is now restricted due to condition. We are told not to travel, so our plan must unravel, our table will have a new look The group will be smaller, the drinks will be taller, and a lot more folks have to cook. The CDC’s trying, the FDA’s crying and the NIH is working overtime But our leader is saying, “no mask and keep playing,” while many think that is a crime. It’s paper or cotton, and the term has become rotten, saying yes mask or no mask implies Our worldly opinion, or a position, when it was intended to only save lives. Now it’s all blown up, infection and cover-up, Covid-19 is at peak Yet some don’t believe it, they just can’t receive it, until into their lives it does creep. While many will travel, by plane, boat or gravel, to say hello in there for the last time Their minds might still wonder, if this was a blunder, while their hearts are feeling just fine. It’s easy to say, we should just stay away, it is all for the good of our land But all the hugs and the kisses, that America misses, cannot be completely banned As for those who must travel, be safe and stay mindful, there’s a virus we need to defeat Please wear masks and stay distant, be vigilant and persistent, so we all can continue to eat.
