                   THE THANKSGIVING WE NEED

We gather the harvest                                                      Some businesses left us

We gather family and friends                                            Some struggled through

We gather gasoline                                                            Now things are booming

Before it all ends                                                              We know what to do

Thanksgiving is here                                                          Inflation will calm down

And the message is clear                                                   Trucks and docks will improve

We will feast together                                                    Supply will soon catch up

Unlike last year                                                               There will always be food

Our world’s a bit safer                                                      Economies cycle

From the pandemic disease                                                Governments fold

Vaccines, boosters, and pills                                               But the damage to our souls

Let us live as we please                                                    Affects both the weak and the bold

Last year we locked down                                                   So let’s gather affection

For safety and fear                                                           And lessen the greed

We masked for protection                                                 Though it may not be perfect

Kept nobody near                                                               This is the Thanksgiving we need
