A THANKSGIVING PRAYER 2018
It’s Thanksgiving eve, time to give and receive
We’ll be cooking and eating all day.
The cupboard is filling, the outcome is thrilling
But did the food we bought have any say?
A beautiful table, where everyone’s able
To eat for contentment and joy.
But the romaine is reacting, with disease that is acting
To ruin our kidneys, oh boy.
Red tomatoes are hiding, the basil is siding
The fresh mozzarella sits alone.
For pesto and salad it may not be valid
Unless we can know where they’re grown
Potatoes are spotted, not pretty, not rotted
The mash will be better than whole.
The chives looking pretty but they drove through the city
Can that a safe way to roll?
The endive is red, and as long as that’s said
The berries of blue don’t approve.
They’ve both taken sides and neither abides
They’ve need to get into the groove
With food that’s not happy, a meal can be crappy
We can’t let that get in our way
So let’s procure in good fashion, and cook with great passion
To make a great Thanksgiving Day.
FROM US AND OURS TO YOU AND YOURS WISHING YOU A SAFE HAPPY AND HEALTHY THANKSGIVING
HOLIDAY.
THE PRODUCE QUIZ WILL RETURN NEXT WEEK.
